About Bowen Historical Society & Museum

The Museum contains one of the major collections of its kind in Queensland, comprising museum pieces, Aboriginal artifacts, natural history exhibits and written records, including documents and papers, newspapers, rare books on early Queensland, pamphlets, the Society's own historical papers, maps, charts, and photographs. Indexes are available. Photocopying facilities are not available at the Museum; arrangements may be made with the Society to have copying done locally. The Society meets on a monthly basis, visitors are welcome, and historical papers are presented by local members and visiting speakers. These papers are generally printed for local distribution.
